SoftBank Group is reportedly planning a $1 trillion AI and robotics industrial complex in Arizona. The project, named Project Crystal Land, will be SoftBank biggest AI project yet. The project, aimed at advancing AI and robotics manufacturing industry, will create a high-tech hub similar to China’s Shenzhen.

This trillion-dollars AI project was initiated only months after SoftBank revealed its involvement in the $500 billion Stargate AI Infrastructure initiative, with the company reportedly contributing $19 billion, giving it a 40% stake in the joint venture.

Now, SoftBank is seeking partnerships with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and Samsung to launch the building of the AI and robotics industry complex in Arizona. The company is also engaging U.S. officials for tax incentives.

The project is still in early stages, and it’s unclear what TSMC’s role would be follows. TSMC’s involvement in the project remains uncertain because the company is already developing its own AI infrastructure initiatives in Arizona. However, the project follows SoftBank’s $19 billion investment in the Stargate AI project.

This SoftBank $1 trillion project will create a U.S.-based manufacturing hub for AI-driven robotics and advanced semiconductors that'll position Arizona as a global leader in high-tech production, similar to Shenzhen in China. The complex aims to include production lines for AI-powered industrial robots and involve SoftBank Vision Fund portfolio companies like Agile Robots SE.
